Valentine’s Day is fast approaching! No matter what you’re doing, it’s not too early to start thinking about your makeup look for the special night. Your partner may be surprising you so it’s good to have a few ideas in mind. We’ve got you covered for any way you choose to celebrate.

The classic

A beautiful red lip and winged eyeliner is a timeless look that works perfectly for Valentine’s Day. It’s also a winning combo on pretty much every skin tone. Pair it with a fitted dress for an elegant yet sexy Old Hollywood feel.

Go rosy

Be as sweet as the chocolates you’ll be gifted. Choose a glossy pink lip (any shade works!) for a youthful feel and add some shimmering highlighter to your cheekbones and eyelids for a fresh and romantic look. If you want to go all out, add some pink eye shadow and/or eyeliner. This is perfect if your outfit is more on the girly side.

Purple haze

If you want to avoid the traditional reds and pinks of the holiday, purple is an excellent alternative. After all it’s the color most associated with luxury and royalty, perfect for the day you should be treated like a queen! Swipe on some purple lipstick and eyeshadow and you’ll be good to go (you can play around with shades to match your skin tone).

Wine is fine

If a bottle of red is part of your date night, why not match? A sultry burgundy lip pairs well with caramel-toned eyeshadow (or not) and some killer heels. Plus, you won’t have to worry about your red wine staining your lips!

A real peach

If pink is too sweet and girly for you, peach is a fresh and pretty alternative. Play around with the soft pinky-orange tones on your lips, cheeks, and eyes. You can add a metallic touch (gold) with your eye shadow or highlighter to get that fresh, glowing look.

Less is more

Let your natural beauty shine with a minimal look (perfect if you’re having a romantic night in). Just a thin swipe of eyeliner, a touch of matte lip stain for color or clear lip gloss for shine, some mascara and you’ll be good to go! You don’t even need to use all three.

Golden touch

Add some sparkle to your look with metallic makeup. Gold or copper eyeshadow and highlighter with a neutral lip is a simple way to make a statement.

Smoke show

True romance isn’t all sweetness. Make his/her jaw drop with a sexy smokey eye - but stick to shades of grey instead of black to soften up the look. You can keep your lips neutral or add a red or burgundy for some extra wow. This look works best with a darker, edgier outfit - an LBD or leather mini skirt, for example.

No matter how simple or bold you decide to go, you’ll surely make your partner fall in love with you all over again.
