Is excessive clutter an issue for you? We all have been there. Many of us have trouble keeping a clean bedroom, and ignoring the problem won’t help at all either. It is a known fact that a chaotic environment is detrimental to our mental and physical health, so if you plan on improving your quality of life, then start by cleaning your room.
Sometimes, messy bedrooms can be the product of refusing to get rid of old stuff such as clothing or even childhood toys. However, most of the times our laziness is the one to blame, and no matter how much of a sloth you are, an embarrassingly messy room is just plain wrong. How can someone live like that?!
If you’re struggling to maintain your room tidy, then this article might be for you. Before the mess is completely uncontrollable, read on our tips for keeping a clean bedroom, and avert the messy catastrophe of an untidy room.
Keep Your Drawers Organized
Keeping your drawers organized is the first step to keeping a clean bedroom. Those untidy drawers will quickly transform into messy rooms if left like that. As a suggestion, you can buy drawer organizers or you can make your own using small containers.
Keep Your Dirty Clothes In Check
Many messy bedrooms consist mostly of dirty clothes on the floor. If you’re like that, prevent clutter by keeping a hamper in reach, and throw your dirty clothes in there. Just make sure to take your clothes to the laundry room once or twice a week (depending on how much you produce), or you’re not doing anything at all.
Get A Jewelry Organizer
There’s no such a thing as too much jewelry. However, too many accessories can be a hassle when trying to keep your room organized, since piles of jewelry get tangled and look bad. Get a storage case or make one yourself to maintain your accessories safe and sound.
Throw Stuff Away
Throw things out as they become garbage. Don’t procrastinate and just put stuff on the floor, because you’re not going to clean it later, do it at the moment and you’ll avoid clutter entirely. Try making a list of the things you have. Are you using all of them? Is there any item that you’re not wearing anymore? Be truthful to yourself, and don’t keep unnecessary stuff in your room. It’s just better to donate your stuff, or making a garage sale than let things pile up in your drawers and closet. Follow these steps at least once a month, and your room will always be clean.
Shelves Are Your Friends
If you want a clean, tidy bedroom, shelves are a great addition to the decoration of your personal space. Keep your books and DVDs on shelves, but make sure not to let clutter accumulate on them too.
Get Storage Bins For Season Items
Storage bins are great to keep your winter clothes safe. Get some of them and organize your wardrobe in a second!
