Bathrooms are the secret sanctuary of the home. They’re where you go to get ready for the day, and where you go to feel refreshed throughout. Yet they often get left behind decor-wise, until you visit a cool restaurant bathroom that makes you feel like yours at home is deadly dull. Make your bathroom time even more enjoyable with a few little tweaks and your guests will secretly be wanting to snap selfies in no time.
Declutter and get proper storage
Of course you want easy access to your favorite products, but counters cluttered with toiletries and makeup don’t look great. If you have the space, get a storage cabinet or install a few shelves. You can use the top of the cabinet for books and magazines! If you don’t, tuck away any products you don’t use on a regular basis under the sink. You can also buy smaller organization units.
Use interesting containers
Buy a matching soap dispenser/soap dish/toothbrush holder set. Use glass jars to hold your cottons. For the cherry on top, get a pretty tray or small basket to place them on/in.
Add in some decor
If you have sufficient counter space, use it to make your bathroom prettier by adding a plant, some candles, and/or a stick diffuser for upscale spa vibes. Plants that would happily survive in a bathroom include bamboo, aloe vera, peace lilies, orchids, snake plants, spider plants, pothos, and ivy (look for anything that likes humidity and don’t require a lot of light).
Spice up your walls, floor, and shower door
Similarly, if wall space allows add a photo or even put up some new wallpaper if you’re feeling up to the task! If your wall space is limited you can always add interest with a cool mat or shower curtain/screen. If you have a glass door on your shower, look for a decal sticker that you can place on top of the glass.
Let there be light
If it’s in the budget, consider switching up or adding lights. You can find reasonably inexpensive lighting strips or ceiling lamps that you can use to breathe new life into your bathroom, and also improve makeup application. Try Hollywood style vanity lights for a glam effect, or individual mini lamp posts for a quirkier feel.
