We know they’re tasty and refreshing, but if you truly want to lose weight consider avoiding these drinks.
Equally, sugary drinks are packed with a lot of calories. Thanks to the fact that they’re liquid instead of solid, it’s easy to consume large quantities in a short amount of time. This causes additional calories to your normal intake. Your stomach and brain don’t register them as solid food, and you won’t feel full after consuming them.
Fruit Juices: Skip Them Or Not?
Contrary to the popular belief, most fruit juices you find in supermarkets are high in calories and sugar. These drinks contain no fiber and are also over-processed. We recommend sticking to whole fruits instead.
Be Careful With Alcohol
It’s no secret for anyone that consuming too much alcohol can be harmful to our health. However, no one tells you that beer and many other alcoholic beverages provide more calories than carbs and protein, or about 7 calories per gram.
We’re not saying that you should cut out booze completely. Actually, drinking wine in moderation seems to be fine and is actually linked to reduced weight gain. Cutting back on alcohol or skipping it altogether is a good idea if you’re on the race to shed some pounds.
Not Looking At Serving Sizes
Even healthy foods like almonds, peanuts, olive oil, and avocados, can be an enemy when you don’t pay attention to the serving sizes. We know they’re delicious, and that’s they’re so easy to incorporate into our diets.
Nevertheless, be mindful of the recommended daily amount of each food you take. If you are exceeding the suggested serving sizes chances are you will only end up gaining weight.
Exercising Without Really Eating Healthy
Exercising is an important part of every weight loss effort. However, exercising and eating unhealthy foods at the same time can be counterproductive. Bad eating habits will never help you lose weight. A good, balanced diet provides many benefits, not only weight loss, but it increases your stamina and speeds up your metabolism. On top of that, too many processed, sugary, and high carb foods lead to exhaustion.
